Come Together

Come together, right now, over me.…”

Global Orgasm is promoting the Winter Solstice (Friday, Dec. 22) as a day for peoples of the world to unite in taking the words of the classic Lennon-McCartney song “Come Together” literally—in the name of peace.

Founded by Paul Reffell and Donna Sheehan, the non-profit group especially is interested in influencing countries around the world that possess weapons of mass destruction.

The motivating factor was the escalation of violent global discord. According to Reffell, the straw broke the camel’s back when “we heard in the foreign press that more of the American naval fleet was being sent to the middle east. The foreign press picked up the story, but the local press didn’t, so we decided to do something.

“We want to create a global surge of positive energy,” he continued. “To the best of my knowledge, this has never been done before.”

The website states the organization hopes the world’s citizens will join together “to effect positive change in the energy field of the Earth through input of the largest possible surge of human energy, a Synchronized Global Orgasm.”

The only thing not synchronized is the time of day when the “big bang” is set to occur. Instead of designating a specific time, the group believes that many releases during the day will have a cumulative effect.

The website includes more information about the event and the science behind it, as well as multimedia downloads, an online store, and a blog.
