A Trippin’ Out Of A Very Brief Nature

The show hasn't ended yet (three hours, 22 minutes and 12,,,11,,,10 seconds to go to be exact) but now is as good a time as any to reflect on what has transpired thus far at the 2003 Hollywood Internext Expo. In a word: Plenty.

Between the unpredictable rainstorms, there was much joy in Hollywood (East) as Webmasters, consumers, executives, video companies, porn stars, aspiring porn stars, those not aspiring to be porn stars, those who are currently weighing all the facts about becoming a pornstar and the like whooped it up from Thursday evening until now.

The mood on the floor was upbeat, though various legal issues were the talk of the show. I am no expert on such legalities so I shall not endeavor to spend five or six paragraphs discussing such matters. We have professionals on staff that can do that.

The parties? The parties were all the rage--on boats, in big clubs, strip joints and in private rooms. Perhaps the most happening spot during the show is the lobby of the Diplomat. The place to be throughout the night (and most of each day) and to chill between parties or after dinner or just to get funky and hang with the crowd.

Everyone I spoke with seemed to be quite happy with the B2B. The accommodations are lovely yet again and all the elements came together like a fine souflle...whatever that means.

Business cards were flipped around like so many Frisbees, the schmooze factor was sky high, execs have been wheeling and dealing, cocktails flowed and there has been a real positive vibe permeating the show.

There is so much more to the story, and it shall all be covered from every possible angle on AVN.com and in the issue of AVN Online to follow. It really has been a wild and wacky and wonderful show. I enjoyed seeing old friends, making new ones and I'd like to say "have a safe journey home" to all the attendees who were here at Internext 2003, Hollywood, FL edition.
