CHICAGO - The Bijou Theater will salute the industrious career of J.D. Slater Sept. 8-10 as part of its monthly Spotlight Series.

Slater co-founded Raging Stallion Studios with Chris Ward in 1999. That accomplishment represents only the tip of his career's iceberg, however. Over the more than 25 years Slater has spent in gay porn, the man has been a performer, producer, director, writer and soundtrack composer. He appeared in more than 150 films and directed more than 70 and continues to create original music for Raging Stallion and other studios.

The Bijou Theater will screen three films in which Slater starred, beginning Sept. 8 with 1981's Handsome. Joe Gage directed Slater in his first porn appearance. New York Men, directed by Sol Roesenbloom in 1981, will follow on Sept. 9, and Stud Busters, a 1985 film by Roger Earl, will complete the series on Sept. 10.

Each screening begins at 8 p.m. with a short presentation about Slater's career and details about that evening's film. Tickets, good for admission all three nights, are available from the box office for $20.

Bijou Theater's Spotlight Series launched in 2007 to highlight the works of leading models, directors and studios that have had a major impact in the gay adult industry.
