Crawford, Ladd Launch Sparta Video
New gay studio to debut Sept. 16 with 'Bare Back Packers'

Chatsworth, CA - Producer Jim Crawford and former DVSX owner Alex Ladd have launched Sparta Video, a high-end gay studio specializing in gay-for-pay and twink content. The company will produce and distribute one title a month, beginning with the full-length vignette feature, Bare Back Packers.
According to Crawford, the decision to form a gay production studio made good financial sense. "At this particular time, we have no interest in being part of the hetero-wars," says Crawford. "To go out and be competitive in that market, we'd have to shoot $6000 gonzos. The gay market is much better. The cost is more, but the return value is there. Our wholesale price is $20. We take pride in what we do and only make quality stuff."
Sparta Video produced 6 titles over the summer. All productions are shot in high definition and are non-condom. Its first release Bare Back Packers follows "very good looking twinks backpacking throughout Europe." Directed by John Sparta, much of the flick's action occurs in exotic locals such as hostels and trains.
Crawford and Ladd are also building the website, www.barebacktwink.com, with plans to launch before year's end.
Bare Back Packers ships to retailers and distributors Sept. 16.
