The Wicked Publicity Juggernaut Rolls On

Wicked Pictures boss Steve Orenstein reports that, although Jenna Jameson will not be at Erotica L.A. in June, that won't stop the Wicked publicity juggernaut. On the other hand, contract girls Serenity and Stephanie Swift will be signing, along with Temptress, Alexa Rae and Devinn Lane. nrn"We're trying to work at an arrangement with Goalie to have our girls rotate and sign at their booth as well," said Orenstein. "In the past I've sold product at Erotica L.A., but I'm not going to do that this year. We'll steer the people from our booth to Goalie's booth to buy the product." nrnThe Wicked websites will also be another key factor at the show. "Besides the specific releases that each girl will be promoting, we'll be pitching the websites, such as Serenity's and Stephanie's," Orenstein added. "We're still in the works with the other girls. Right now Devinn [Lane] has a domain [devinnlane.com] but not a paysite yet. We're also working on sites for Temptress and Alexa." nrnAnother Web thing they're working is an on-demand launch at a couple of levels, Orenstein adds. "We'll have two addresses, WickedOnDemand.com and WickedOD.com which will take you to the same place. We'll be offering consumers an opportunity to see the movies on a pay-per-view basis." The first feature in that experiment will be the upcoming Jenna Jameson feature, Dream Quest. nrn"We're also working on a program to license monthly to third-party webmasters product that they can offer on a pay per view basis," Orenstein added. nrnAccording to Publicist Joy King, the July Summer Expo promotion will see the release of Dream Quest, which will come out simultaneously on video, DVD and online. "This will be a big move for us," she predicts. "For the summer Expo we're also promoting Spellbound which features Temptress, Alexa and Devinn. It's a Brad Armstrong picture. We'll also be pushing a Temptress movie called Working Girl. In addition to that, Double Feature will be coming out on DVD. It stars Serenity. We'll also be promoting two Stephanie Swift movies, The Exhibitionist Part 1 on DVD and Part 2 on video. And we will have Alexa Rae signing the poster for Pornomatic 2000, a Jonathon Morgan comedy which is a takeoff on the shopping network genre." nrnBut that's not all. For the Summer Expo, Wicked will also promote the Stephanie Swift feature, Her Secret Life, another Jonathon Morgan movie along with Devinn Lane's new movie Silent Echoes directed by Jim Enright. Sex Safari which comes out on DVD will also get major show play. nrnKing said she was in Vegas this past week, accompanying Devinn Lane who was performing at the Spearmint Rhino. "Gary from the Howard Stern show was introducing her," King said. "He introduced her two shows and it was kind of fun to hang out with him for the weekend. He also introduced the bands at a big concert out there, so I also got to go with him for that. He's a pretty cool guy to hang out with. That was fun. nrn"Of course it was very exciting backstage with big bands," King adds. "And who I do I run into? Serenity. I go, heh, I know you! Then I hang out a little while longer and who do I run into next? Sharon Mitchell. What is this? Gary was telling me about Paul Fishbein and the old days when he was still in Philly. He was telling me how he'd watch the movies, take little clips out and Paul would come on the air and talk about them." nrnKing said Devinn's Spearmint gig all happened at the last second. "We went on Friday, and Devinn was at Bob's Classy Lady (May 18). On Friday she was doing stuff Friday for Danni's Hard Drive. She's been a busy girl." nrnKing also reports that Wicked publicist Seth McCoy is moving on. "She's going to freelance," King says. "We've already hired Daniel Metcalf. He's a good writer and very eager to work for us. He certainly knows all the magazine people. He'll probably start sometime this week."
