The proclamation recognizes ASACP's efforts to effectively help parents prevent their children from viewing age-inappropriate content with the RTA website label. Additionally, it states, "the City of West Hollywood hereby commends the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection and extends its sincere appreciation of the organization's advocacy on behalf of children."

West Hollywood Councilman John Duran presented the proclamation to Irvine and Sommer on Monday, July 21, during a City Council meeting in front of an audience of about 200 people.

"We are honored to receive this award from the City of West Hollywood and thrilled to be able to accept it along with Morgan Sommer," Irvine stated. "Morgan has been contributing his personal time as a member of the ASACP Advisory Council for the last four years; he also put forth the effort to obtain this recognition for ASACP and RTA. Morgan's actions show how effective it is when the industry works together on such an important cause."
