HIDDEN CAM EQUALS WORKERS' SUITS

Two financial employees have sued their former colleague and their employer over charges the colleague hid a videocam in a company bathroom and then posted images of them on voyeuristic and pornographic Web sites.

Patti Kidder and Katherine Dean claim former Ocwen colleague Ronald Minnis, Jr. hid the videocam in the ladies' room at the company's West Palm Beach headquarters, and that others in the company insulted them over their outrage at their discovery.

The Miami Daily Business Review says the two women are suing for invasion of privacy, reckless infliction of emotional distress, negligent hiring, negligent supervision, and negligent retention.

Minnis could not be reached for comment, and the Review says Ocwen's legal manager refused comment, saying the company won't comment on any litigation.

But the women's attorneys, William Julien and George Supran, say in the formal complaint that Minnis crawled through and hid in crawlspaces and "secretly spied" on Kidder, Dean, and other women in the restroom below.

Kidder, Ocwen's auction coordinator, still works at Ocwen, as does Dean, the company's residential sales manager. The Review says the complaint doesn't specify when the spying took place, but says the women complained to company management with nothing being done.

The two women also accuse managers, supervisors, owners, and officers of the company of "issu(ing) a barrage of insults" at them which humiliated them, including "Patti porn star," "You should attach your picture to your request for a raise," and "Oh, I guess I better check to see if there are any video cameras in the bathroom, shouldn't I?"
