Set during the time of the Renaissance, Anal Renaissance takes a period piece and shoves it up the ass ... literally. There are some lush production values and costumery here, which shows a little forethought.

Sadly, though, the sex is pretty much just average. Yes, there's a good deal of anal prodding, and the ladies are lovely, but some of the production design gets in the way and the end result is something between artcore and a film student's pet project.

In addition, the sound is a little uneven, which causes the viewer to occasionally strain to hear what's going on. That, too, can be a bummer.

The sum total of this adds up to average, which is pretty much what Anal Renaissance is. Points for the effort, but, sadly, just average.

Retailing: At least it's visually interesting, and kind of different.
