A pleasant plot-driven 1996 film reminiscent of the '70s Golden Age films. Stephen St. Croix is hired by shady mystery man George Kaplan to find out who's dipping into his money-laundering funds. Plot takes several twists and turns before semi-surprise ending.
Moody/dark camerawork, well transferred, and jazzy back-ground music add texture. Second-angle coverage pops up unannounced now and then, usually offering a choice between cable version and hardcore in sex scenes. Notably, watchable in five languages, with usual English/French/German offerings supplanted by Hungarian and Czech.
