Several months ago, a fellow AVN reviewer proposed an article about each reviewer's choice of the world adult films ever made. He reserved Bacchanal (a 1970 disaster) for himself. He can have it. I now have my own nominee. Carnal Encounters Of The Barest Kind is supposed to be a spoof of sci-fi films, but comes off as too many spoofs do – a failure on all fronts.

Narrator Bill Margold introduces four short sex films "made by aliens for aliens." Their sense of what is sexy is totally alien, also. Each of these loop-like debacles has the arousal power of a bad haircut and the connecting footage with Margold (and a pre-nose job Robert Bullock) are just as bad. It's an old joke, but this 1978 film was not released – it escaped.
