This title is a must for any anime section, suggested for more mature adults.
Mystery of the Necronomicon is a suspenseful animated thriller involving the supernatural powers of the Necronomicon, the Book of the Dead. The story is set in a secluded, snowy vacation resort reminiscent of The Shining. Guests are horrified when a blizzard hits and visitors keep turning up dead. Added to which, our lead character is a detective with a questionable past who keeps flashing back to similar murders in his past. Is he the murderer or will he be the next victim? Viewers are held in suspense as the plot twists and turns until it reaches an unexpected climax.
The animation is very well done, and the voices are not squeaky or annoying. Characters are well presented, especially the detective who is quite shady and mysterious. As can be expected, the female animated figures are voluptuous. The style reflects an American influence, as the character animation is not so stereotypically Japanese.
The sex scenes are very hot, though animated. Some viewers may be bothered by the types of sex scenes included in the video, as there is a rape scene and a scene of sexual blackmail.
Viewers will greatly enjoy this animated murder mystery as it has a wonderfully written story and gave this reviewer a new appreciation for anime.
