Good for couples, and plot-lovers. Raylene fans will be pleased with her two scenes.
Jason McCain is an overbearing asshole, and his sole instruction to fiancée Raylene about their impending wedding is "I don't give a shit - as long as the cake isn't chocolate. I'm allergic to chocolate." She goes to gruff baker Tony Tedeschi, whose snack bar clientele seems to be all porn stars. He tells her stories about their screwed-up lives - and his own, including an ill-advised pre-ceremony tryst with his bride to be - leading to a quick series of turnarounds (Is that cocoa Tedeschi is putting in the cake?) that will keep viewers intrigued to the last frame. Five scenes, one g/g, all easily excisable for cable.
Writer/director David Stanley tosses off another four-star script, with the milieu of the porn biz to throw in sex scenes, plus images like uninterested crew guys passively watching a scene being shot and a dispirited porn starlet looking at a table-full of bran cereal and enema bottles and a script titled Shit Sandwich 3: Take a Bite and mournfully asking, "How did my life get like this?"
Pre-noms for script and direction for Stanley, Raylene for Best Actress - Film, and Ralph Parfait for cinematography. Enjoy Stanley while you can. From the looks of this, he may not be working this side of the street much longer.
