With the obvious homage to the Martin Scorsese classic you'd expect some boxing, and you get it - lots of it. Or allusions to it, anyway. The lust, however, is nowhere to be found. The opening g/g scene is tepid to the point where Dale DaBone's character is more interested in working out than watching. Mark Anthony and Little Jody make a decent pairing, if a smidge too much by the book. But Bridgette Kerkove makes Dillion Day look every bit the champ as she sucks and fucks him hard on a weightlifting bench. Where do we sign up for that gym?

There are slips of a story here and there, but the film doesn't really follow it to any degree, so neither will we. Nice shooting and good production, but the bland sex scenes and wandering script dumb it down.
