SYNOPSIS
Missing some initial penetration shots, we\'d say this plot-heavy tale is obviously best skewed to couples.
The title Pimp might sell more units, but a more accurate handle would be Player. The sleaze-bucket pussy wrangler of the title doesn't so much run a stable of street shores as he does turn his girlfriends out for a few private tricks for friends. His latest catch is Alex Taylor, who falls for his moves like a bar-hopping neophyte (which is the last thing Taylor resembles. Chalk it up to creative casting). After a number of hot encounters, some of which even relate to the plot, Taylor begins to catch on to her pimp, boyfriend's master plan, and springs into revenge mode.
This is a schizophrenic piece, where all of the main characters address the viewer confession-style; and the visuals make sudden shifts from standard videography to a wide angle, pseudo film-look. We can't say it's not effective, but it is disconcerting and seemingly unmotivated. The story shifts gears as well, from a dramatic social commentary to a comedic resolution.
