Ample samples of stripping should be of interest to tease aficionados... try to get your softcore viewers to cross over
Everyone's familiar with the Pulp Fiction gimmick: repeat the action from the same scene a few times from a different character's perspective. For Quentin Tarantino, the results are often revelatory... in a porn movie, the technique only breeds redundancy. And in a porn movie starring Janine in only one sex scene, we're shortchanged that even option. (Breeding...lesbian...ah, forget it.)
PJ revolves around -- better sit down, this is a shocker -- one naughty night in a strip club. Thankfully, PJs dialogue is minimal. The clumsy clichés don't offer much for the actors to chew, but the sets are convincing and the cinematography is appropriately vérité-ish.
While the blond bombshell shakes her thang onstage, audience members John Decker and Roxanne Hall hook up in the public toilet; janitor Nick East and roadie Alexandra Silk fool around in the dressing room; and owner Marcus settles a bar tab with Jessica Collins.
None of the hetero scenes cook like a pig on a spit roast; but they have their moments.. especially the tight grope with Roxanne, who retired her superlative charms last year. (Judging by Nick East's old hippie hairdo. PJ has been in the can for a while.) Speaking of "retired" performers, Janine's "final" encounter with steadfast fan Randi Rage is practically a tacked-on plot afterthought, but a fairly arousing one at that. The girl eats pussy and ass as though it were a plate of fresh buffalo mozzarella.
