In the first of this two-part film series, Christy in the Wild, Christy Canyon is married to Derrick Lane, a metaphysics-obsessed wanderer. They are traveling with their friend Jon Dough, who's obsessed with Canyon. This trip to nowhere begins with a motel stop, where they suck and fuck wildly. Not one to be left out, Dough takes on motel clerk Heather Hart. These hot scenes intercut nicely, but really creepy background music distracts. The next day, the tense three-some picks up mysterious hitchhiker/Racquel Darrian. Expected to bed down with Dough, she instead picks up Marissa Malibu and kelly O'Dell by their campfire for an all-girl romp, with Dough an interested spectator. Racquel then takes on Derrick, in a hot, well-photographed outdoor frolic. Christy peters out here, with mystery bikers Biff and Nick driving up.
In Racquel in the Wild, we find that they are pursuing Racquel, for unknown reasons. Kelly and Marissa distract them with a lovely girl/girler. Kelly, whose pale prettiness can sometimes be washed out in harsh video lighting, looks sensational in natural light on film. The thugs join in, with Biff's oral action with Kelly, and Marissa and Nick's standing fuck worthy of comment. This lengthy scene is skillfully intercut with dialogue among the others as the friends confront Racquel, and then each other, over their triangle. The shifting sexual tensions are resolved, as Jon finally gets to fuck Racquel, in a short and unsatisfying encounter. Just as inexplicably as she appeared in their lives, Racquel then abandons them. Even allowing for the metaphysical motif and the mystery characters, there's just no sense to these films.
Barely one story gets stretched into two films, and despite some good sex scenes, especially Christy's, there are holes big enough to throw a dog through. Also, as is all too frequent in adult film, otherwise impeccable production values are hurt by failed attention to two aspects: sound and music. With nice photos on both boxes, Christy's and Racquel's fans shouldn't miss these productions.
