Critical Rating: AAA
The game is afoot when Aja mysteriously wakes up in a hotel room with a dead nude girl and an empty memory. Whatever sense she has left leads her to a psychic (Butler) who promptly probes her mind (and body) for clues to her amnesiatic state. In flashbacks, we discover that Aja was hired to be secretary for a married business couple (Drake and Cameo) but soon, the gal Friday is poking into their personal affairs.
The extracurricular activities are benign enough until Drake's steady side dish (Taylor Wane) arranges an "accident" for the wife. When Aja is discovered eavesdropping, the shady lady drugs her at the annual office orgy. (Doesn't everybody have one?) When Aja's memory returns, we switch into high melodrama and an instantaneous resolution.
Unfortunately, the sex is rather tame throughout, and the supporting cast barely gets warm until the final orgy. Nevertheless, one can actually perceive some creativity in the directing and camera work. Aja on the (too dark) boxcover should attract her long-time fans.
