As porn director "Walter Erhardt," Eric Edwards continues thrusting his way through a mid-life crisis with his pants down around his ankles. Divorced three years from Nina Hartley, he still can't seem to forget her. A get-away-from-it-all mountain retreat doesn't even help. Mischief-and stray snatch —always finds him.
"I'm living the American wet dream," explains Edwards to his brother Sheffield. Married to a cold, bitchy spouse, Shef can't offer much in the way of sympathy, but good brother Edwards has his secretary Sharon Mitchell take Sheffield "out to lunch" anyway. And what a meal it is. In an elegant hotel room, they discuss what nice girls do and don't do. Mitchell proves she's a very bad girl with great skill, taking him in a collage of acrobatic postures. Mouthwatering camera angles make this a truly memorable coupling.
Edwards' libido is drifting further and further from reality. Not only does he start to ignore his current lady, Sharon Kane, but she's tired of hearing about his virginal ex-wife Hartley. Once more, Edwards loses himself in the past, remembering a kinky casting call with Tasha Voux and Rhonda Jo Petty. After they convince him to up their day rates, they take turns sampling him. Petty's long-missed beauty and Ann Margret snarl heighten the raw nastiness of the scene.
Kane's at the end of her rope because not only does Edwards have Hartley nightmares, but he can't help but think of past love and porn starlet Rene Summers. True to form, he tells Kane to leave him because he loves her. Their emotional confrontation gives this seasoned duet of sex performers a chance to show great depth, pathos and acting abilities.
Director Cecil Howard's sensitive and sensual camerawork, paired with scriptwriter Anne Randall's insightful dialogue make Part 3 another winner in this chronicle of human sexual frailty. Outstanding all-around performances, especially from Edwards, who won and AVN "Best Actor" trophy for part 1. A perfect combination of raw rutting and serious carnal questions for a very potent erotic punch. Not to be missed!
