Nazis, Egyptian curses, elixirs of life and a delicious sense of the absurd combine with steamy, unbridled sex to single out Mystery of the Golden Lotus as one of those rare, epochal achievements in adult video feature making.

Certainly from the standpoint of costuming, set design and script, you don't trip over a feature like this every day. Jon Martin reprises his archeologist role from Voodoo Lust and stumbles upon an ancient Egyptian "scroll of resurrection" -- a key to life which the Nazis naturally covet. Operatives Eva and Klaus (Viper and Bill Margold) are sent on a mission to retrieve it. Viper is patently malevolent in her role and runs away with the show, and Margold is braindead from one too many espionage assignments (the heavy-handed Boris and Natasha treatment really makes this feature).

Victoria Paris is the resurrected Egyptian princess, Phaedra, who holds the key to the puzzle Marin dotes over. She's featured in two very erotic costume-y scenes (Peter North and Martin) highlighted by an intriguing background score. Also of special note is the flashback Egyptian orgy scene spotlighting Ray Victory, Cassie Nova, Aja and Sasha.

Basically, I would kill anyone who revealed any more of the storyline to me, since there's some really cute stuff you have to enjoy for yourself without a seeing eye dog. Mystery of the Golden Lotus belongs in that select golden circle of modern adult classics.  If you don't stock this one -- Eva and Klaus "vill" make you pay.
