First and foremost, the spectacular new erotic movie Night Trips celebrates the look and raw sensuality of Tori Welles. Just as important, this completely unique sexual art film needs the support of the retail video industry. This rare 35mm film breaks new ground and gives the industry a chance to support quality as it never has before.
The film looks like the Playboy videos with explicit sex. Without much dialog and a one-line plot (Tori is spending time in a lab, hooked up to a device that allows Porsche Lynn and Randy Spears to analyze her erotic dreams), Night Trips has an erotic frenzy that builds and builds and builds. Tori is passionate. In one moment she's in cool control, the next in unabashed passion. She consistently masturbates to her own dreams, with careful, clever editing that never interrupts the heated flow of the erotic poetry.
That she performs sexually on a consistent basis throughout this 75-minute feature is a bonus for her fans. Certainly, she's the only new true bona fide "porn star" of 19898. It's her best sexual performance, one that almost defies the imagination. Her multi-girl lesbian scene (which includes Jamie Summers in a cameo) provides lustful heat, while her poolside sex scene with Ray Victory swelters. the final payoff with Randy Spears lacks in foreplay, but satisfies on a hardcore level anyway.
While Night Trips boasts a look and feel completely alien to the basic of adult filmmaking, it delivers the sexual goods that an adult film promises. Yet it does so with technical merit unmatched in this industry. The film switches from color to sepia tone to black and white and back to color with relative ease, with quick-paced editing and smooth cinematography. It's easy on the eyes, and the camera tells the story, allowing the heat of the erotic scenes to develop naturally. Quite special.
May I repeat that Night Trips deserves the support of retailers all over the country. When your customers watch it, they'll never look at an adult film the same way again. Perfect for couples, and since there's non-stop sex, even better for the raincoater. Tori is featured on the packaging, so this should be nothing but a major hit.
I haven't seen Night Trips in years, instead enjoying each new Andrew Blake film as he makes them. But on this new, enhanced DVD version, with digital stereo and superior quality, you might remember that this is the groundbreaking adult film of the '90s. Night Trips is the erotic film that many of the new wave of adult filmmakers owe some serious debt to. And this is the only adult film to win a major award at a real film festival.
A sexual mood piece with beautiful visuals, luscious sex, production values and a career-topping performance by Tori Welles, Night Trips was produced right before technology went wild. The viewer does not suffer from the manic editing that many of today's MTV-weaned directors thrive on. Rather, Night Trips works on a more subdued level, with erotic scenes building and creating atmosphere, while looking beautiful.
One of the best and most important adult films of all time. Night Trips has been released on DVD at a welcome period. Though the add-ons are minimal (just cast lists, chapter indexing and the basic stuff), this is a great movie that looks better than it ever could on videotape. This is a film that could prompt consumers to actually go out a buy a DVD player. Stock in depth for perpetual sales.
