Y'know, if there was any justice in the world, the only edict to come down from the Meese Commission hearings would have been for a three-year moratorium on adult movies set in hospitals. Let's face it, we've seen every combination of doctors, nurses and patients imaginable, and Candy Stripers III adds nothing new to this dreary diagnosis.

When a big city hospital is crippled by a nurses' strike, head medico Eric Monti goes to the logical place to look for replacements, a strip-tease club, where he recruits dancers Siobahn Hunter and Nina Preta as candy stripers. This "fresh blood" comes not a moment too soon, as the hospital receives three new patients; mobster Ron Jeremy, soap opera producer Ashley Moore and sex-crazed actress Cassandra Leigh. Well, before you can say "what's the prognosis?", these angels of mercy administer to their charges while head nurse Barbie Dahl gets into intensive "negotiations" with the hospital staffs... er, staff.

Taken individually, some of the sex sequences hold up quite well, particularly Jeremy's hot tub encounter with "girl Friday" Andrea Sutton that leads to his hilariously overplayed heart attack scene, as well as Dahl and Monti's unique "tit for tat" labor relations. Unfortunately, one must sit through a mediocre story with little momentum between the scenes. And what's worse, Candy Stripers III (surprise!) has no connection whatsoever to the first two films. Maybe a little more "intensive care" would have helped, but the outlook for this patient isn't good.
