Here's a classic example of spoiling something good. Erotic Zones I and 2 were excellent shot-on-video features that had plenty of hot sex, in addition to stories that really held the viewer's interest. They were so good, AVN gave Erotic Zones, Volume 2 an award. But Erotic Zones, The Movie (it's not even a movie. It's three video segments just like 1 and 2) can only be described as fairly boring.

The first segment, entitled "Tell-Tale Mirror," holds no great surprises and little action. Gina Carrera and Tom Byron perform blase sex and the story is predictable. Carrera meets her dead grandmother in the mirror, and goes back in time (as her grandmother) to New Orleans to relive her madam days. Although time travel is a fascinating science fiction concept, there's very little that's fascinating here.

The second segment with Jamie Gillis as an unhappy husband also reaches into the past where his "long, lost love" is rekindled. Too bad that just like his marriage, this story is dull, even with the sex. The third segment, entitled "Final Payment," has a disjointed script to match the disjointed character played by Herschel Savage. Also, there's some sloppy shooting (why didn't the editor take out the little light that keeps circling the TV set in the first scene?).

All in all, Erotic Zones, The Movie holds no intrigue. I recommend you take out Erotic Zones 1 and 2 for your enjoyment.
