If you’ve seen any of the films in this series – Special Section Women, Last Orgy Of The Third Reich or Hell Camp – then you pretty much know the formulaic drill. Pretty girls are rounded up in cattle cars and shipped off to Nazi “playgrounds” for love experiments. Certain scenes have pretty much become standard fare. The welcome to camp and strip in a lineup. The march to the camp doctor and strip. The march to Frau Blucher’s (the camp bull dyke) office and strip. The gynecologic examination. The march to the commandant’s… you figure out the next part.
Love Camp focuses on a Jewess, Anna (pronounced: Hhhhana) who looks like Jessica Lange. The war has separated Anna (Sirpa Lane) and her boyfriend, who are first seen in the unbridled throes of first love. The pastoral sweetness is sullied as Anna’s background is discovered. She’s commanded to a love camp to serve as slut to the boys on the front line.
Anna must be pretty good because the swastikas keep giving her chocolate. “Dats a goot sign. It can mean life,” the bull dyke tells her. It’s better than a good sign. The camp commandant vants Anna for his personal mistress, and thus she ascends the Nazi social order.
Love Camp has more than its elements of gore, plus a little S&M. The commandant, who looks more like an old third baseman for the Baltimore Orioles, likes to dress up in women’s clothes and be beaten with whips. But hold on. Anna’s just playing for time by playing the whore. In the climactic finale she whips out a Luger at a party and tries to do in a whole Third Reich.
The Nazi element is really smokescreen for throwing in some great softcore action. By token of the element, the women are always submissive. Great if you like your vomen obeyink orders. Even for a foreign film with dubs, the acting’s pretty decent with props and backdrop realistic enough.
