Critical Rating: AA

Shaky hand-held camerawork, some muffled-sounding dialogue, shoddy sound editing and bad acting mar this otherwise average video story, having nothing to do, by the way, with Romancing The Stone. Fortunately, some decent raunch saves the tape from complete boredom; most notably star George Payne and two supposedly African black girls, Hazel Scott and Satin Summer in an exotic jungle setting.

Romancing The Bone is the story of a famous porn film studio and the strange group of seemingly sex-starved adult film fans who take a tour of it, all the way to Mistress Candice’s dungeon for some bondage.  Along the way, we get a lesbian dildo scene and superfluous scenes from the film Peepholes, which is distracting and pointless.

If the acting weren’t so stilted and George Payne didn’t look freshly embalmed, Romancing The Bone might have been a more enticing adventure.  So, when you see it, skip ahead to one of the hotter sex scenes.
