Reviews

There is something generic about shot-on-video productions. They look stamped out, and rarely approach the sizzling heights that feature films do with relative ease. Odd, because video enhances the personal, one-on-one experience with the audience.

Such is the case with A Mid-Slumber Night's Dream. The case is appealing, but the product isn't always. This is another one of those tried and true fantasy stories, about a young housewife who dreams of erotic interludes when the husband goes away. Occasionally, she even acts out those fantasies, with her girlfriend, or the plumber, or whomever happens to be free.

Granted, it's difficult to come up with something new to reveal about the mystery of sex when the competition is cranking out thousands of similar videos each year, but this one doesn't even try. It's also hard to be objective after reviewing so many tapes each year, but I honestly thing that Mid-Slumber Night's Dream wastes talent. Shakespeare it aint'.
