You can't always borrow a premise from a popular mainstream film and expect to make successful porn out of it. Sex Busters, a great idea for a feature film, gets wasted in this thrown-together shot-on-video package that uses a generally unappealing cast and unimaginative, repetitive camera work for the hardcore.
People with sexual problems call The Sex Busters, two girls who constantly spout out their motto, "why bust your butt for sex." The entire production consists of the girls, played by Karen Summers and Candy, going to various homes to perform sex with their clients. In a surprise ending, all of the clients get together for a massive, boring, drawn-out orgy that has a slow motion come shot featuring maybe three gallons of the white stuff.
Sex Busters is not without its moments, however. The forced humor works once in a while. A man (Steve Drake) visits his Irish priest, complaining that he has a man locked inside his body. When the priest promises him help by calling the Sex Busters, Drake says, "you'd better work on that accent; it's awful." The script is loaded with cute asides like that and movie-making jokes that alternate between being witty and downright moronic. Some of the fast motion sex scenes are welcome, also.
Within all of the sex scenes, at least one stands out as erotic. Our lead girls and Sheri St. Claire perform a brief three-way lesbian roundelay that uses double penetration apparatus. Nonetheless, for most of Sex Busters the viewer will wish there was a service called Boredom Busters.
