Boats Girl (The Girls From China), a somewhat interesting, yet extremely disappointing adult movie, was made in Hong Kong with an all Oriental cast. As X-rated entertainment, Boats Girl fails on many counts.

The main problem is sex. It's awful! The male actors, boring and unattractive are barely able to maintain erections. The actresses, while attractive, lack any sexual technique, charisma or general enthusiasm.

The sex scenes are very raw, but totally stagnant and extremely overextended. Twenty minutes of continuous missionary intercourse to the beat of "muzaked" American songs really tests one's patience. While Boats Girl makes no attempt to develop any plot or storyline, the poorly dubbed English will certainly thrill Ultraman and Godzilla fans.

So what's interesting then? Fortunately, Boats girl offers a unique view of another continent's sexual habits. The Chinese women are very passive, lying back and allowing the men to make lover to them. The sex in Boats Girl emphasizes cunnilingus and lots of breast stroking. Yet fellatio is almost totally non-existent.

Contemporary American adult films are geared towards the male audience and his fantasies. Therefore our films feature more aggressive female characters. The climactic orgy scene in Boats Girl features four couples making love individually. Unlike American films no swapping, double penetrations, or anything interesting or exciting is evident. The men quietly wrestle each other, but never stray from their particular women.

The most significant aspect of Boats Girl is that it is an illegal film. China's restrictive politics do not allow any pornography to be produced. This in itself makes Boats Girl a real collectors item. Be forewarned that it is not a good film and most people will not like it. But some adult video buffs will enjoy watching something different.

If all else fails after viewing Boats Girl, you will certainly have a better appreciation of the higher quality American-made adult films.
