I was positive that the Playboy magazine videocassettes would grow tiresome by now; even with the beautiful women, there's no real sex. I have to admit that I was bored by the middle of the second volume. Despite the reservations, Playboy Volume 3 turns out to be the best of the series so far.

Sensual and erotic most of the way, Volume 3 somehow manages to provide the perfect blend of lovely naked women, comedy and simulated sex. Centerfold Charlotte Kemp, beautiful as they usually are, shows a rare intelligence not usually found with these women. Playmate of the Year Maryann Gravette is gorgeous to look at so intelligent conversation isn't necessary.

The humor of the Playboy tapes continues to improve, with a cute ad for Swiller beer starring Ghandi, who's breaking a fast. In addition, the feature on Sex in Public Places, about a photographer who shoots people performing sex in subways and in Central park snow, is one of the best Playboy segments yet. The ribald classic called The Virgin's Cup, will arouse the most conservative viewers. Eve the Cheech and Chong interview holds some interest.

Unlike the airbrushed magazine centerfolds, the video girls seem naturally beautiful; less manufactured. Every bump, bruise and freckle can be seen and that's what I like most about Playboy, Volume 3.
