A new trend has hit adult films. Producers are stacking movies with endless amounts of female stars and concentrating strictly on sex. This welcomes careful criticism on just how hot these sex scenes are and how well they can carry a movie. It seems some directors may say to themselves, "We'll film as many scenes as possible, and so what if they're not all good; the next one will be."
Like another recent hot all-sex flick, Satisfactions, Alan Vydra's Golden Girls proves that sex is sometimes all you need. The film flows freely, from one sexual situation to another. When one scene fails, the next on picks up tempo, never leaving the viewer bored for too long. Fortunately, thanks to a plethora of attractive women, Golden Girls hits more often than it misses.
The "Miss Fantasy" beauty pageant is the backdrop for this carousel porn movie. John Leslie, as director of this contest, has planned the greatest mass seduction in history. The most beautiful and stimulating contestant will hold the title of "Miss Fantasy." But a panel of male judges, all of whom have paid great sums of money to participate, try out all the girls' assets in individual "interview" sessions.
So, in one scene after another, the large casts plays and trades partners in a multitude of mindless sex games, most of which prove very stimulating. For example, one seduction scene involving Jamie Gillis and Rose Kimball, has the infamous male star slowly grabbing his model's thighs and breasts in a tease scene that turns into an all-out orgy of two.
All of the girls, especially Callie Aims, the extremely sexy Rachel Ashley, Tina Ronie and Debbie Cole perform admirably in every position imaginable. Newcomer Blackstar, a seductive black lovely, proves that she knows exactly how to use her lithesome body in one sweltering segment. And the extended John Leslie/Rachel Ashley tumble near the film's finale is swarmy and out-and-out decadent: one of the year's most exciting encounters.
Meanwhile, the cinematography by Alan Burstein is flawless, capturing heated sweat, saliva and plain old lust. Director Alan Vydra, who has plenty to work with, should be commended for keeping the proceedings moving along swiftly and for concentrating on the ever-reliable John Leslie for the most important male sex scenes. Golden Girls rates highly among the all-sex feature films that have landed in video stores this year. It's recommended solely for its scorching sex scenes rather than its nearly non-existent storyline.
