Director/performer Nacho Vidal's latest is pretty routine fare, surprisingly so, considering its Evil Angel pedigree, the gold standard of hard-edge smut.

The sucking, fucking, ass worshiping and analyzing is by and large run of the mill, strangely low-key and, shit, all but silent in spots. Was this a conscious choice by Vidal to break from the current prevalent craze of louder, faster, harder? If so, bad decision.

Some of its six scenes (most of them one-on-ones featuring Vidal and the attractive Euro and Brazilian female cast) have moments of real heat, but, unfortunately, they're few and far between. And despite the title, some, but not all of the scenes contain butt-balling.

Then there are the female derrieres on display throughout. While most are mouth-wateringly luscious, the one in scene five more than lives up to that segment's title, "Big O Butt." Voluptuous almost to a fault, cottage cheese-like from some angles, with a zit or two on it to boot, it's not especially pleasant to look at, unless one is the hardest of hardcore mega butt men.

Actually, the most arguably entertaining footage in the production isn't really sexual and comes during scene three's brazen fourway on the deck of a boat when another vessel passes by, its passengers slack-jawed at what they're witnessing.

Thus far, Vidal's Evil Angel output has been hit (the AVN Award-nominated Back 2 Evil and the winning She-Male Domination Nation) and more or less miss (Nacho: Latin Psycho 2). Sadly, Ass Obsession falls squarely into the latter category.
