Synopsis

An "art film" for the art film lovers in your customer base.

Reviews

Swedish "art films" were a moneymaker in the U.S. in the late '60s, so why wouldn't an American director go over there to make one? Nudie-cutie director Joe Sarno did it in 1968 with incest shocker The Indelicate Balance and Inga, about the sexual "coming of age" of a free-spirited "16-year-old" (Marie Liljedahl), who reprises that role here. Abandoned by her boyfriend in an apartment in a bordello, the broke Inga takes a job as secretary to an erotic author (Lennart Lindberg) - and promptly falls for him. But he leaves on an extended trip, so she moves back to her apartment - and promptly falls for the musician across the hall (Tommy Blom). Her author/lover returns, only to be seduced by his old girlfriend Greta (Inger Sundh) as Inga watches from behind drapes - but after Lindberg's death, Greta shows up to seduce Inga herself.

There's not a lot of nudity in Seduction of Inga (known as Inga 2 in Sweden), and even less simulated sex, though more of both, using body doubles, was cut into an American release of the film, which version is also provided. The basic interest here will be historical - and the producers of this two-disk package have included a featurette in which Liljedahl, Sarno and his wife give their recollections of the shoot.
