Ambitious Harmony shakes the dust of Skankton, W.Va., off her Lucite heels and heads out to Cali seeking fame and fortune. Our young heroine tells a dude she accepts a ride from that she's going to act in "erotica," not pornos, and he says, "Ooh, 'erotica,' right? That's where five guys put their dicks in your mouth." "That's part of the story, though," Harmony argues.

Once she gets settled, of course, she meets the 5 People You Meet in Porn, including "The Agent," who tells her, "You have no friends or family here and will be completely dependent on me? Perfect. – I'll tell you what I'm going to do for you: I'm going to let you put your money in my bank account." Then he details nearby "amenities," which include the abortion clinic down the street.

OK, last bit of spoiler dialogue is from Evan Stone's (he plays director Jerome Tanner) rant about gonzo: "When's the last time you walked into some room and just started fucking everyone in it? Just doesn't happen! – I see two big black cocks fucking a tight little white ass, and I want to know why those cocks are in that ass!"

The dialogue interludes are not only very funny but they're brief, and that Tanner manages to fashion a narrative that actually reaches a resolution without veering into the dull or pretentious (or nonsensical) is a crowning achievement. Unlike many pornos that make an effort in terms of plot, there's an end to Harmony's story, and through it all - you guessed it - there are some really good-quality fuck scenes as well.

Gorgeous Jamie's scene with Scott Nails is a keeper, as is Stone's scene with busty Harmony, and Angela, with her pussy fountain showering a nearby table during her tryst, has squirt fans covered.

Tanner's transitions and editing are smooth, and the lighting and sets are also great, particularly in Manuel Ferrara's "The Dealer" scene. (Speaking of, Brooke Haven buying crank with an AVN lifetime achievement award is a nice touch.) It's too bad there wasn't real crank to be had on set, however - more energy would have maybe helped some of the listless acting, which was a pity, especially considering the quality of the material.
