Critical Rating: AA

It's hard to believe that L.G., a director who usually delivers some uplifting ethnic releases, actually signed off on this one. He (and/or West Coast Productions) should ban the so-credited "XL Ent." from ever editing any of their subsequent videos. Why? Because they don't know how to work with 16 x 9 footage. Rather than, say, consult the manual or check the Internet for tips, XL just chose to ignore the simple process — ignorantly squashing widescreen into the TV ratio. So we choose not to ignore such basic screwups.

No matter. Had Big Ass Quake been properly presented it still wouldn't have garnered more than AA 1/2. One flabulous fourway notwithstanding, perfunctory action and minimal production values don't cut it in any format ... or forum.

Retailing: Just for undemanding fattie fans.
