Abby Winters understands that auteur theory has no standing in The People?s pornography. Her special rhythm: lesbians doing their own thing without so much as a thought as to what the audience "wants" to see. The result is a recording of authentic lovemaking; the most intimate expression we've seen this year.

None of these decent-looking gals hit volcanic heights, but they breathlessly and convincingly undulate with passion. Unlike a few other dyke-centric feminist releases, Girls in Rhythm doesn't shy away from hardcore shots — it just places a greater emphasis on highly intense, long (and we do mean long!) kissing, petting sessions. There are gazillions of all-girl releases but very few capture the sex act with such tenderness. Sapphos will eat it up.
