Adult's greatest title, re-imagined through the eyes of adult's most awarded director, Paul Thomas, and starring Savanna Samson and Belladonna! Featuring six classic anal scenes as scorching as the fires of hell, surrounded by a cautionary tale as old as Satan himself: Young Miss Jones ... an aspiring journalist ... oblivious to the human carnage she leaves in her wake. Pandora ... enjoying the high life in Hollywood. Both have no idea they're being groomed by the devil to spawn the next generation of demons ... and every one of their shuddering orgasms brings them closer to their hellish fate!
To be perfectly honest, it took two viewings to piece together the whole picture of this latest Devil in Miss Jones rework. It's a disjointed tale—by design, clearly—and the close attention one must pay to many subtle and fleeting details in order to follow what's going on doesn't necessarily befit what your casual porn viewer is hoping for the experience to entail. On top of that, once you do get all those details straight, they seem a bit contrived at best, and totally dismissive of other key missing points.
Nevertheless, Resurrection does contain some pretty amazing stuff. And the sheer star power of the leads alone is enough to qualify it as a must-see release. Belladonna is always fun to watch in a feature, as she pours the same raw energy into her occasional major acting role as she does into her unbridled sex scenes. As the infamous Miss Jones—in this telling, a freelance reporter who essentially sells her soul to the devil (Savanna Samson) for journalistic fame and glory—Bella radiantly conveys the broad spectrum of emotions scripted for the character.
Savanna does a nice, quietly sinister job as Satan incarnate Pandora Phoenix, as well, but the real showstopper here is Tom Byron, as bespectacled, whore-addicted evangelist Billy Milford. In one of the most entertaining sex scenes we've truly ever seen, Byron rails Penny Flame and Victoria Sin in a warehouse while continuously spewing invective at them like "Put a spit-polish on that, Jezebel!" and "I will consecrate all that is evil within you!" as Flame shoots back her own nonstop stream of gems the likes of "You're gonna fuck the evil right out of that tight fucking whore ass!"
More genuine feeling and even nastier is the opening kitchen counter anal sesh between Bella and Kurt Lockwood that entails, among other things, a standing 69 and a rectal cream pie that Lockwood scoops out with his fingers and feeds to her. And for a grand finale, the entire cast engages in a no-holes-barred bacchanal set in hell whose climax includes an utterance by Nick Manning of his celebrated catchphrase, "Dropping loads!" with the rich addendum, "Eat it, Devil!"
This is neither Paul Thomas' best movie nor the magnum opus some may have been expecting given the long, long wait for its arrival. But it does provide some of the most memorable slices of adult cinema to come along so far this year.
