‘Fashionistas’ Performance Set for AVN Awards

Stagliano: "This year's number will be completely different"

LAS VEGAS – Evil Angel owner John Stagliano will be producing an original piece based on his popular Las Vegas performance show, “Fashionistas,” for the upcoming 25th Anniversary AVN Awards show. The show is scheduled for Saturday at the Mandalay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Stagliano’s piece for last year’s AVN Awards show was a surefire highlight. The bombastic performance featured five aerialists and numerous dancers in fetish-themed costumes designed by Jose Luis Vinas. The dancers dominated the stage with fluid eroticism that blurred the lines between S&M fantasy and high society fashion.

“Last year it was such a fun challenge to take aspects from both the Vegas dance show and the Fashionistas Safado movie and incorporate them into an original piece,” Stagliano told AVN. “This year's number, while still featuring the dancers and aerialists from the Las Vegas ‘Fashionistas’ show, will be completely different. It's political and edgy while remaining just as sexy. The music is an original composition by Douglas Mariah, the composer for last year's award show number, and both of the Fashionistas Safado movies. The dancers love the opportunity to put on a show of this scale in a venue as huge and energetic as the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

“We were overjoyed at the response we received last year, and we're honored that [AVN Publisher] Paul Fishbein invited us back for AVN's 25th Anniversary show.”
