Immigration officials claim Lord entered into 'sham marriage' with Hungarian hooker

SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. - Porn director David Lord was arrested today at his Reseda home on suspicion of participating in a green card scheme that allowed Hungarian women to work as prostitutes in a Sherman Oaks brothel, according to the L.A. Daily News.
A federal criminal complaint alleges that Lord entered into a false marriage with his Hungarian "spouse," Agnes Jeges. Lord is charged with perjury and making false statements on a marriage application in order to secure a green card for Jeges, who was also arrested today at her Van Nuys residence on the same charges.
According to the Daily News, the couple claimed on their marriage application that they lived together when they did not. And while Jeges stated that she had never been a prostitute, court documents reportedly show she was one of several women involved in a prostitution ring run by another Hungarian national, Angela Csutai, of Van Nuys. Csutai allegedly operated the brothel in her Sherman Oaks apartment complex from 2004-2006.
Csutai was arrested June 17 and formally charged Tuesday with perjury and making false statements on an immigration application in a four-count federal indictment, an Immigration Customs and Enforcement official told the Daily News.
Csutai is also suspected of using a false marriage to a U.S. citizen to gain legal permanent residency. ICE officials say she lied under oath about her occupation and her marriage during an interview with an immigration officer.
"No one should ever look upon immigration benefit fraud as a victimless crime," said Robert Schoch, special agent in charge for the ICE Office of Investigations in Los Angeles. "When people lie to obtain an immigration benefit, they not only cheat those who comply with the law and respect the system, but, as we believe occurred in this case, their lies and falsehoods are often designed to mask other types of criminal activity."
Lord and Jeges are scheduled to appear in federal court this afternoon. The perjury charges carry a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison, while the charge of making false statements is punishable by up to 10 years.
