Mars needs women, mike needs guitars

Mike Albo adds a p.s.: "Gene: The Make Mike Albo Happy Foundation is off to a great start. Can't thank you and all the donors enough...so far. Let's not forget that my happiness is an ever-evolving thing, and the initial involvement of all you kind people, while great, could conceivably slack off somewhere down the line.

"I was asked yesterday if I would accept things other than cash, and I wish to make it perfectly clear that, yes, items other than cash are perfectly okay-provided, of course, that said donations make me happy.

Here's a short list:

1. Gibson Super 400 guitar \n2. Gibson L5 CT ("George Gobel model") guitar \n?3. Gibson L5 Wes Montgomery model guitar \n4. D'Aquisto New Yorker guitar \n5. Pre-WWII Epiphone Emperor guitar (non-cutaway, non-electric version only) \n6. Stromberg Master 300 guitar (non-cutaway or cutaway versions both acceptable) \n7. Martin D-18 and D-28 guitars (but only those made prior to 1962) \n8. Any and all Gibson mandolins, both A and F styles...but extra points for those made in the 1920s and signed by Lloyd Loar.

C'mon people, make me happy. I'd bet that someone out there has one of these items cluttering up a closet or collecting dust under a bed. Why not pass it along to someone who can give it a good, loving home?"

Gene sez: "Mike, from where I sit, I think your requests are very reasonable and modest, all things considered."
