I Want My PornTV?

MTV's True Life series re-airs a slightly edited, shorter version of a segment called "True Life: I'm A Porn Star" at 10 p.m. EST March 22 - including a profile of HIV-positive, veteran porn actress Brooke Ashley, among others.

"I'm A Porn Star" aired originally in October of 1998, and due to network concerns and viewer complaint, was pulled.

Probing what MTV calls the "sometimes dark but always fascinating world of pornography in America," the segment features a paradox of sexual bravado/self-loathing and intimacy/isolation, which MTV says is the driving force of the porn world. Adult video is the main focus.

"Although the adult entertainment industry encompasses everything from stripping to telephone sex, from print to sex toys, we will focus mainly on the adult video segment of the business," the cable network says.

Ashley appeared in over 200 porn films, and was diagnosed in February of '98 with HIV, which she allegedly contracted while doing a shoot called The World's Biggest Anal Gang Bang in which she had unprotected sex with 32 men. She's since left the adult film business to start a new career as a stripper.

"True Life: I'm A Porn Star" also features segments including documenting the journey of a first-time porn actress ("Mooners") and interviews with Ron Jeremy, Ed Powers, and Missy, among other performers, producers, agents, and health workers.
