The Adult Industry Medical healthcare Foundation was established in 1998 following the outbreak of HIV in the adult performer community caused by a performer, Marc Wallice, who had not properly been tested for the disease before performing in hardcore scenes. The foundation is currently owned by former performer Dr. Sharon Mitchell, and the agency performs the vast majority of HIV and other STD tests on adult performers in any given month.
