Mallick Shoots for Mainstream

Adult Internet entrepreneur and ePassporte.com creator Christopher Mallick today announced the formation of his new production house, Oxymoron Entertainment. Mallick launched his new production firm with a $50 million bankroll, minus any partners.

Mallick first made a name for himself with the formation of ePassporte.com, a money-transferring service used by a large portion of the adult industry. He said although he is proud of his accomplishments within the adult industry, this new venture "will be totally mainstream."

The first release will be a comedy-drama called The Great Intervention, a film written by Andy Weiss and Jamie Abrams that centers on young adults coming to terms with the serious side of life. Mallick currently is casting for the film, which will be shot in Canada this spring.

Oxymoron is striving to deliver, "all-original, well-written, character-driven films. I've always been a big fan of films such as Swingers and Hustle & Flow," said Mallick, who is just as excited about future projects. "We're working on a true story based out of New York City that dates back 15-20 years—that will primarily focus around kids in the sports community and how they deal with different races."

Several distributors already have been approached for releasing Oxymoron films, said Mallick. "We've been in talks with people from HBO, Cinemax, and, of course, we will be exploring distribution through the Internet," he explained. "I learned the business and gained all of my knowledge about the Internet through the adult medium, so I am going to use that knowledge and apply it to my new business ventures. I believe the Internet will be the distribution channel of the future."
