PrivateSpeed Relaunches

After a remake that includes full-screen broadband streaming of full-length films, video-on-demand Internet portal PrivateSpeed relaunched last month.

"Private’s movies can now be watched at the highest possible quality thanks to DivX, one of the most exciting breakthroughs in video technology on the Web," said Private chief executive officer Charles Prast, announcing the PrivateSpeed relaunch. "This state-of-the art downloading technology now makes 'renting' our movies as easy as downloading an MP3 file. Private has earned a reputation for pushing the limits of new technology, and we are proud to once again offer the most state-of-the-art technology currently available.”

Member users can now download full-length, full-screen, DVD-quality DivX films using DivXNetworks' downloading technology, available for viewing any time, day or night, even without an active Internet connection because they can be stored on your computer, Private said.

In part, the remade PrivateSpeed became possible by way of a deal with GoInternet, a broadband portal offering full-screen streaming at highest quality. "We are delighted that Private Media Group, a world leader in their field, has chosen Go Content pay-per-view platform for the relaunch of Private Speed," said GoInternet managing director Jerry Barnett in a statement. "The combination of Private's world-leading content, coupled with Go Internet's technology and hosting services has created an outstanding web site that is already showing great commercial promise."

Members can browse a massive film catalogue, find films in content categories or search features, and buy "tickets" enabling them to begin watching films at once, Private said, as well as having access to single-click buying, hardcore trailers, extensive film reviews, and free lifetime membership opportunities.
