Adding Features For B2B, Gay Markets: AVN Adult Entertainment Expo

Recognizing that the annual show serves a variety of adult entertainment markets, organizer Home Entertainment Events has added two new features for the 2004 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo: a trade-only area on the exhibit floor, and a gay products showcase.

With over six months to go before the 2004 show at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Home Entertainment Events said exhibit booths "are being snapped up at a dizzying pace. More than 120 exhibitors are committed to the show already," the organizer continued, "and 90 percent of the floor space has been sold."

"This is already a phenomenal show, and the trade-only area and the Gay Product Showcase will make the show even better," said Carrie Dieterich, Vice President of Marketing and Industry Relations for the Video Software Dealers Association (VSDA), an Expo partner. "This is about creating the right environments to showcase the various markets in the industry."

The strong demand for booth space didn't surprise AVN president Paul Fishbein. "Everybody in the industry looks forward to the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo every year," Fishbein said. "We get together, do business, network, and have a little fun - actually a lot of fun."

The so-called B2B Marketplace section, accessible to trade attendees only, will feature a quiet atmosphere for exhibitors and retailers enabling them to doing business. Several exhibitors are expected to offer products and services exclusively for retailers and other trade members, VSDA said, including shelving and fixtures, POS systems, carpeting, and others. The section will open for the first three days of the show, January 8-10, but not January 11, primarily a fan attendance day, VSDA added.

"This new show feature allows each exhibitor an opportunity to reach their target customer," Dietrich said, "whether it is strictly trade-only or a combination of trade attendees and fans. We believe it offers the best opportunity for meeting the business needs of our exhibitors and attendees."

The new Gay Product Showcase, sponsored by Cybersocket, Paladin Video, and Specialty Productions, will feature director/performer Chi Chi La Rue greeting gans along with other top gay/bi adult stars from AVI Group, Bel Ami, Kristen Bjorn, Falcon Studios, High Octane, Hot House, Jocks Studio, Mustang Studios, OGV Men, Studio 2000, and Titan Media.

"We wanted to do something special to celebrate this important segment of the adult entertainment industry," Dieterich noted. "This showcase is designed to give the gay market the visibility it deserves."
