Houston Headlines Event to Combat “Lap Dance Law”

AVN Award-winner Houston, who feature dances in adult venues across the country, is hosting a party and fundraiser later this week at the Xposed Gentleman’s Club in Canoga Park to fight the proposed “lap dance law.”

“This is just crazy. We already have laws on the books about what these girls can and can’t do and those existing laws simply need to be enforced,” Houston said in a press release. “With all of the other problems in Los Angeles: traffic, pollution, the school system, I think there are a lot more important issues the city council should be dealing with.”

The “lap dance law” is a proposed ordinance that was kicked back to committee last week by the Los Angeles City Council. The ordinance sought to prohibit direct tipping of dancers and to create a six-foot distance between dancers and their clients, among other restrictions.

Currently the proposed ordinance is being reviewed by the public safety committee to address concerns about the constitutionality and necessity of such an ordinance.

Houston has invited members of the Los Angeles City Council out for a free lap dance. “I’ll show them why the lap dance is a beautiful thing to be celebrated, not outlawed.”

A number of surprise guests are expected at the event, including porn stars, Penthouse Pets, and mainstream music, film and TV celebrities. Dancers from clubs all over Los Angeles will participate in the event.

The fundraiser will take place on both June 27 and June 28, with two shows per night.

Tickets for the event are $20 at the door, $15 dollars if bought in advance. Advance tickets may be purchased for $15 at HotHouston.com.

A portion of proceeds from the event will go to a legal defense fund to fight the ordinance.

Xposed Gentleman’s Club is located at 8229 Canoga Avenue, Canoga Park, California.
