Evasive Angles Sets 1st Blu-Ray Release

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Evasive Angles will release its first Blu-ray title, Desperate Mothers & Wives 9, on Oct. 20.

"We released the standard DVD a month back, and it has done so well that it got my attention that this should be our first Blu-ray disc," sales director Edward Smith told AVN. "The title probably sounds familiar. We made the first one right after the show ("Desperate Housewives") came on, and then everyone kind of copied it, but we were the first."

Marc Anthony directed the interracial title, which stars AVN Hall of Fame performer Nina Hartley, Mikela Kennedy, Darryl Hanah, Carrie Moon and June Summers. Hartley performs with Nathan Threat.

"Evasive Angles is mostly known for its heavy ethnic, black and Latin product," Smith acknowledged. "But it's important that people understand that we started in the interracial genre. I have to give a lot of props out to Nina Hartley. She has the power to transcend gender, race and age. She brings people to the table. Our interracial is so strong."

Evasive's next Blu-ray release will be Horny Black Mothers and Daughters.
