Third DVD Company Hit in Break In; Is There a Pattern Emerging?

Although it happened to his company two weeks ago according to Dynamic Video's Mike Rossman, a pattern of break-ins is emerging affecting adult-related DVD companies. Mickey Blank's company, Typhoon, suffered a break-in about two weeks ago. Mara Epstein discovered a break-in of her company, I-Candy, and it now comes to light that Rossman's company, located in Woodland Hills, was hit about the same time as Blank's. Rossman concedes that his is a low key operation. Rossman who has a ten year background in the business, principally in phone sex, says he's been moving adult DVD product for about a year. "The DVD's were something we dabbled in, then they started to take off," Rossman said. "We're going with the flow. We sell on the internet [dvdsxxxrated.com], directly to stores, things like that. Rossman said they're planning a new site called dvdadvantage.com which will be up shortly.

Rossman: "They cleaned me out completely. DVD's is the only thing I sell. This pattern is real disturbing. It's devasting. They come in and they take everything - every printer, every telephone, every scanner, every fax machine; everything, my back-ups, my main server. It's all history. Then they take your stock. Thank God they didn't take all my stock. They only took half of it, but still, it's terrible. I thought mine was an isolated incident until I talked to Mara Epstein. The bad part about it is that we had all our banking, all our accounting and everything on computers. We had to close all our bank accounts up because our pass words were there. Now we have to reconstruct our banking records. This is terrible. I'm in a secure building, in a suite of offices with other people around me. Nobody even knows I'm here. There was no damage to the front door but my inside doors were all crowbarred. Somebody knew I was here."
